A LINE OF CLEARED PRODUCTS

Do you know what cleared products are? The term CLEARED PRODUCT was born with the rise of knowledge about the care of curly hair and with this, some adaptations were needed in the formulation of cosmetics so that they become specific to this type of hair, in other words: CLEARED for curly hair.

Much is said about products cleared for curly hair and with this, brands in general use this NON-TECHNICAL term to promote their products in an often misleading way from the ideal characteristics of a product for curls.

With this, it is necessary to be alert when buying your kit for curls and therefore we bring to you some attention points:

1- Don’t use shampoo with SULFATE:

Sulfates are considered very strong detergents for curly hair, thus removing excess oil from our scalp and strands and drying them out by containing very aggressive detergents. Therefore, every time we wash our hair with sulfates, one of the most striking consequences is frizz and dull hair.

Technical terms: Lauryl Sulfate

2- Stay away from products with PARABENS:

They are effective preservatives in many types of formulas, so they are used to kill microorganisms. They can be found in shampoos, moisturizers, shaving creams, lubricants, etc.

Many scholars have been researching the action of parabens due to the possibility of being a carcinogenic element, traces of parabens have been found in breast cancer, in addition to causing skin allergies, poor sperm quality in men causing male infertility, premature skin aging, and interfering with the endocrine system, that is, a chemical compound that should be observed when buying our products, after all it is our health that is at stake.

Technical terms: Propylparaben, Isopropylparaben, Butylparaben, Isobutylparaben.

3- Say no to MINERAL OILS:

Being a derivative of petroleum, mineral oils have thermo-plastic properties and high water repellent action, that is, you can even buy the best moisturizing products for your curls, but they will not be absorbed by the strands due to the barrier created after the improper use of oils in the hair. Mineral oil is then a villain, knowing the importance of hair hydration during treatment.

Technical terms: petrolatum or petrolatum, mineral oil, paraffinum liquidum, paraffin or vaseline.

4- The harms of SILICONE:

Silicones are colorless, odorless and inert chemical compounds that resist decomposition by heat, water or oxidizing agents forming a plastic coat on the hair shaft preventing water/hydration penetration.

Technical terms: Dimethicone, Dimethiconol, Amodimethicone, Simethicone, Cyclomethicone, Cyclopentasiloxane, Polymethylsiloxane.

5- Be careful with labels:

Before choosing your curl kit because of the brand, the beauty of the label, or because you saw an influencer using it, search in the composition for the right components to treat your hair.

At Stuca, we are alert to “dangerous” composition and advertisements that wish to mislead curly girls who are in search of their best curly version.

One of the reasons we were on a mission to come up with our own line of products for curly hair was to make sure that we had an ideal and true treatment for the health and beauty of curls.
